Tip 13: Copy Document: reuse an old order, invoice or credit memo

Most new documents look like an old one. Copy Document builds the new one from any previous document, posted or not.

On a new sales order (or invoice, quote, credit memo; the same on purchase), choose Copy Document from the actions. Pick the document type (quote, order, posted invoice, posted shipment...), the number, and whether to include the header (customer, addresses, terms) and whether to recalculate lines (re-price at today's prices and recheck stock) or copy them as they were.

Uses: a repeat order from last month's; a credit memo built from the posted invoice it corrects (Copy Document from Posted Invoice, with "Recalculate Lines" off, keeps the original prices and links the credit to the invoice for application); a quote converted to an order; a purchase order from the last one to that supplier. For recurring orders every week, see Recurring Sales Lines (tip 14).
