The single most useful key in a journal or document.
In any line (journal, document, worksheet), put the cursor in a field and press F8. The value from the same field on the line above is copied in. Dimension, posting date, document number, account, description: whatever the field. Twenty journal lines with the same date and document number become F8, F8 on each line.
Related: on a general journal, the Document No. increments automatically when a line balances and you start a new one, and Posting Date carries forward. On sales and purchase lines, the Type carries forward, so once the first line is an Item the rest default to Item. Together with quick entry (tip 12), data entry is mostly numbers and F8.
