Tip 26: Item Availability by Event, Period, Location and BOM

"Do we have it?" has four answers depending on when, where and whether it is made from something else. The item card has all four.

On an item (or a sales line), Item Availability by: Event shows every scheduled receipt and shipment in date order with the running projected balance, so you see the day it goes negative; Period summarises by day, week or month; Location by warehouse; BOM Level shows how many you could assemble from components on hand; Variant by variant; Unit of Measure.

On a sales line, the Sales Line Details FactBox shows availability for the line's item and location without opening anything. For a promised date, use the Order Promising action, which calculates the earliest shipment date from availability and lead times.
