Tip 35: Choose a report layout without a developer

Every report can have several layouts, and a user with the permission can pick, copy and edit them.

Tell Me: Report Layouts. Find the report (Sales Invoice, Customer Statement, Aged Receivables), see its layouts (Microsoft's RDLC and Word ones, any custom), and Set Default for the company or for yourself. New copies an existing layout to a Word or Excel file you can edit: add your logo, reorder columns, change wording, add a sheet with a pivot (Excel layouts). Upload it back as a new layout. Nothing changes in code.

For the management accounts, an Excel layout on the trial balance or financial report with your own pivots and charts is the most valuable one to build; the dataset refreshes, your sheets stay. The developer post explains what sits behind it.
