Tip 36: Schedule a report to run itself

Any report with a request page can be scheduled: it runs on the job queue and the output lands in your Report Inbox or your email.

Open the report, set the filters (use tokens like %month or %workdate-7d..%workdate so they stay right), and instead of Print choose Send to → Schedule. Pick the output (PDF, Excel, Word), the earliest start date and time, and a recurrence (daily, weekly, the first of the month). The job queue runs it and the file appears in the Report Inbox on your role centre; from version 29, automated report outputs can email it or save it to a SharePoint folder instead.

Aged receivables every Monday morning, the stock valuation on the first, the open orders list to the warehouse daily: set them once. Check the Job Queue Entries page if one stops arriving; the job queue post explains why it might.
