The tiles on the home page are cues. Set their thresholds and colours, and add the activity groups you actually use.
On the role centre, click a cue tile's menu → Set up Cues: a low and a high threshold and the style (green, amber, red) for each, so "Overdue sales invoices" turns red at twenty. Personalise (tip 6) the role centre to hide the activity groups you never look at and move the ones you do to the top. The Business Assistance and chart parts can be swapped for other charts (click the chart menu). Add your most-used pages and reports as bookmarks (tip 39).
A role centre that shows five numbers that matter and nothing else is the difference between a system people open in the morning and one they avoid.
